Summer Heat

Summer heat is on of the most confusing times for Sugar Gliders. People seem to think because they are exotic animals fron the Rain Forrest they can endure the heat.  The difference in the Rain Forrest is the humidity is very high. The high humidity helps in some degree to keep things wet.  Here in this part of the world things just dry out and dry up.  It is very important to keep your Sugar Glider between 75-85 degrees and insure they have plenty to drink and that they receive fresh fruits to eat that are moist and not dried out. Without proper fluids and maintained temperature they will become dehydrated and die.  It is especially important this year due to the excessive heat.
