Custom Cages builds cages in two methods:

All Wire Cages

The first type of construction is to build the cage entirely of wire.  This type of construction is perfect for smaller cages.  They are usually used indoors and have dropping pans, and may be used in conjunction with one of our angle iron stands on casters.  The maximum size that should be built in this construction is about 4’x3’x6’.  A cage this large is usually reinforced by means of shelves inside the cage and other reinforcing around large doors, etc.  These cages are not strong enough to be walk-in cages.  While these cages are usually used indoors,  they can also be used outdoors under shelter.  In almost all cases, stands on casters are available at an extra charge.

The second type of construction is our panel construction cages.  These cages fall into two categories.  Roughly we will call them Indoor Panel Construction and Outdoor Panel Construction.  There can be some overlap of where they are used but this is a simplified way of categorizing them.

Indoor Panel Construction Cages
The first of the panel construction cages is the ones used indoors.  These will be fairly large cages, usually designed for monkeys, kinkajous, coatimundis, parrots, iguanas, etc.  They usually will have a floor and a sliding dropping pan underneath the floor.  The cage itself will usually have casters so that it can be moved for cleaning, etc.  These cages can have shelves inside and the doors usually have keylocking door latches.  They are built in panels made of 1”x1” triple galvanized steel tubing which is welded and powder-coated and covered with the appropriate wire for the animal being housed.  They are assembled by means of special clamp kits we manufacture at Custom Cages.  These are not walk-in cages.

Outdoor Panel Construction Cages
The second of the panel construction cages are usually used outdoors.  These can be very large structures, and can be built in single or multi-compartment configurations.  These are walk-in cages and will not have a floor.  They are usually attached to a concrete slab, or assembled on any level surface.  These cages may be aviaries, catteries, kennels, or breeding facilities for a wide variety of animals.  They can be built with a wire roof, colored metal roof, or a combination of both.  They can also have a safety door area, which is a double door entry system to keep the animals from escaping while the care taker is going in and out of the cage.
