Chinchilla Cages

Description

This unit is two cages in one. Each cage has two levels. It was designed for a couple of chinchillas or a couple of pairs where the owner doesn't have a lot of floor space to spare. They are normally 24"x24"x60" but this one was built to a customers specs and he wanted it to be 72" tall. Each cage is divided into two levels. The upper level of each cage is a solid ½"x1/2" floor for safety. There is a 6"x 6" hole in the upper level for the chinchilla to go through at the top of the ramp. Therefore there are two doors on each cage, one to access the lower level and one to access the upper level of each cage.

Note that each has the 4” deep sliding dropping pan, and in this case, each have the optional litter guards. The unit is sitting on a 24”x24”x6” stand on casters.

Add a built-in hay rack to the front of the cage. Chinchillas need roughage, usually in the form of alfalfa hay. Our rack is built into the front of the cage, so you just push a handful of the hay into the rack via a hole in the outside of the cage. They pull and eat the hay through the wire rack, and most of the spillage occurs within the cage. They then can eat the spillage at their leisure.
